I need to start working on my website

I've got some time and I'm trying to think of an original design to my web site to promote myself. Simple is always the best but I feel like there's a generic website design that's been over done. I have limited web experience and remember nothing from my HTML days. I need something catchy for stefanguntermann.com, which for the moment just links to my blog (this one infact).

 I'll keep thinking. No rushing these things but I've seen some great designs out there done by friends. I just want something original.
